Is turn order always clockwise, or does the rearmost Hiker go next?
The rulebook says the next player clockwise takes a turn.

Turn order is clockwise. The player with the First Hiker Marker starts each season, and play passes clockwise; position on the trail does not decide who goes next. Players whose Hikers are both at the Trail End are skipped.
