Yes, if she knows she is a Tanner when the Apprentice Tanner is called. A plain P.I. who turns into a Tanner wakes after the Apprentice Tanner and cannot. A Doppelgänger-P.I. acts immediately, before the Apprentice Tanner, so by the publisher's simple rule she thumbs if she knows she is a Tanner.
