Do the individual reputation positions (such as 7.2 versus 7.1) break a tie in the final courtship or the game?

No. Tied players at the same reputation level are tied, and the position within the level is ignored. The designer said in 2021 that 4.3 beats 4.1 and cited the rulebook, but later rulings in 2023 and 2026 reversed this: incremental reputation does not count, and the Compendium spells it out. The digital version counts positions, as an edge case he left alone.
