Are promo tiles balanced for solo opponents and the cooperative game?
Not entirely. The designer sorts promos into those suited to play with or without expansions, those that suit solo opponents, and an overpowered set best avoided; Horse Carriage and Alderley Hall cannot be used solo, and promos give an edge over solo targets. In the cooperative game the incompatibility note is a balance caution rather than a hard rule, because the Sneyd family cannot take irregular favours.
