Does courtship tile VP count toward my final score?
The designer said courtship only determines the favours and tile VP are counted at the end.

No. The VP totalled in a courtship only decide who wins that courtship. Tile VP are scored once, at end-game scoring. What you keep from a win is the VP card and, for the last courtship, the Fairchild card.
