How is the direction of a knockback chosen when no straight line of hexes points directly away?
The publisher answered this directly on BGG (2022).

Knockback must move in a straight line of hexes directly away from the source. Where that is unclear the publisher said any consistent method is fine, and north then west is there for simplicity.
