What does a Void Seeder Surprise Attack give, and can Panic stop a pod or hibernation?

A Surprise Attack gives a Contamination card and a Panic card, as the page 5 text says (the page 8 summary differs). A Panic card does not interrupt entering a pod or hibernating unless it kills the Character or makes them leave the Room. Only the Despoiler retreats from a fire extinguisher.
