How does the Elevator work: where do I end up, can others come, and can I use it in Combat?

You end up in the destination Elevator Room, because the Elevator token is not a Room and nothing can enter it. You may bring willing Characters from your Room, no Noise roll is made, and you cannot use it in Combat. Calling the Elevator moves no one, and Intruders in the Room stay. The rulebook wording about placing characters next to the Room was resolved this way by support.
