Do Contamination cards count as Action cards in my hand?
The rulebook says Contamination cards are not Action cards and cannot pay Costs; that they still count toward your hand for Surprise Attacks and the fewest-cards check comes from a relayed support reply and players.

Partly. They count as cards in your hand, so they matter for Surprise Attacks and for deciding which Character has the fewest cards. But they are not Action cards for any other purpose: they cannot be played, cannot pay a Cost, and cannot be discarded for the Advantage die. You can discard them only when you Pass.
