Roll it whenever you Shoot in a Section with Power, including against Carnomorphs; never for Melee. The hit-plus-discard and discard-only faces count as neither a blank nor a 1-Injury hit for any effect, such as a weapon's extra effect on certain results. You cannot discard a Contamination card to pay for the die's effects.
