If a move carries me onto oil, do I finish the rest of the move after sliding?
A designer confirms the slide is resolved on stepping onto oil, and several players agree you then finish the move.

Yes. The slick is resolved when you step on it; once the slide ends you carry on with whatever movement is left. Turning while standing on oil is normal; only stepping onto a new oil space triggers a slide.
