How does Fuel Tank work: when does it blow up, what is discarded, and do I turn?

Each time its slot executes, Fuel Tank turns your Mech according to its power. It explodes only if you choose to detonate it when you are about to take damage, before any damage card is drawn; then the whole stack is scrapped and it does 1 damage to everything within range, which also hits Crystal Shards and is not limited to adjacent Minions. Use is optional.
