When does the Doom Cannon fire, and can I stop it?

If any Boss Command Line slot reaches 3-Power and is executed in Danger Phase, you lose. It only fires if the third card is still there when the Boss executes that slot, so killing the Boss first, or removing the card when the mission allows it, prevents it.
