Can a hero and an ally with the same name, like Black Widow, be in play together?

Generally no. Unique cards with the same title cannot be in play together or in the same deck, so a hero and their signature ally cannot coexist. The Rules Reference makes an exception only when the alter-ego and the subtitle are both different. You can still use the ally as a resource.
