Does a boost card's star icon count as a boost icon for scheme or attack totals, and can effects that cancel boost icons cancel it?
Several players agree on this reading and relay an FFG reply, though the original is not verifiable.

No. A star is not a boost icon, so it adds nothing to the villain's ATK or SCH total and cannot be cancelled by effects that cancel boost icons. Its special text applies only when the card is flipped as a boost card during an attack or scheme.
