Can I cancel a shadow effect with Test of Will or an action?
The rulebook separates shadow effects from When Revealed effects and flips the shadow card as part of resolving the attack.

Not with Test of Will, which cancels only When Revealed effects. A shadow effect needs a card that specifically cancels shadow effects, such as Hasty Stroke. There's no action window between flipping the shadow card and resolving it, so only responses can interrupt.
