Can I Veto an Escape, or any DI card played in a battle?

Veto cannot target DI cards hidden under a battle card, since it is neither a Day nor a Battle card. Escape is played in the Day Phase before battle, so a Veto by a third player is possible, but only on an opponent's turn.
