Mr. Lacerda takes the top open speech slot on each card he picks and scores that card's highest multiplier, even when his token sits in a lower slot. Cards are taken left to right, skipping full cards. The English wording 'maximum available multiplier' is disputed, but the designer endorses the solo-mode statements that read it this way.
