How do I get my Companion into play?

The first time you use the Fountain action, you can move the Companion from the general supply to your personal supply (the Kiosk tile for that does the same). From there you place him next to your Merchant at the start of any later turn, for free, even if other Merchants are on that place, or keep him in your supply until you want him. Using the Fountain action again lets you send him back to your supply.
