How does Banshee's Wail work?
The designer explained that the token stays under a clan until it is actually removed.

If no Banshee tokens are in play, place one under a clan of each player, including yours. Each marked clan is removed at the end of the Season. A moved clan keeps its token; the token is discarded only when the clan is removed. If the removal is prevented, the token stays and the clan is removed at the end of the next Season. In a clash, the attacked player chooses which clan to lose.
