On one experienced player's reading, you play it and it stays in front of you rather than resolving right away. At the next victory check it counts as one Deed for you. It then goes back to you if you are still chieftain of its territory, or to the current chieftain otherwise. On that reading, The Dagda can cancel it, so no Deed is gained.
