When do Advantage cards go back, and do I keep mine if I lose chieftain status?

Chieftains take their territory's Advantage card at step 3 of the Assembly. If you lose chieftain status mid-Season you keep the card and can still play it that Season. At the end of the Season any unplayed Advantage card whose holder is no longer chieftain goes face up beside the board; played ones are face down. Cards are reassigned at the next Assembly, so the same player can hold the same card two rounds in a row.
