Whose colour is a stack for placing new pieces, for example a Beetle sitting on an opposing piece or Queen?
The designer confirmed the colour change applies only to placement, matching the rulebook's Beetle text.

A stack counts as the colour of its top piece, but only for placement. If your Beetle sits on an opposing piece, you can place new pieces next to that stack as long as no visible opposing piece touches the empty space; the opponent cannot. The covered piece still belongs to its owner (a covered Queen is still that player's Queen) and still cannot move.
“it’s only for placing purposes, you are able to place your pieces around the queen and if you completely surround the queen you win.”
