How does the Pillbug's special ability work, and which pieces and spaces can it use?

Instead of moving, a Pillbug can lift an adjacent piece of either colour (including a Queen Bee) up over itself and drop it into any other empty space adjacent to the Pillbug, not just the opposite side. The piece cannot land on top of another piece or return to the space it left. Using the ability counts as your turn's action, and the lifted piece has to obey the One Hive rule at every step.
