Where do Alternative Event benefits come from, and does repeating an event double them?

Benefits come from the general supply unless the card says the State pays. Repeating an Alternative Event doesn't double the benefit: each time, the recipient may take the card or a one-off 1 VP, and later recipients must follow the card if an earlier one took it. The Middle Class puts gained goods in its Goods & Services area, not Storages.
