If I take no guest on my turn, does the guest row slide and refill?
A publisher said there is nowhere to slide when no guest is taken, and a publisher also confirmed immediate refills.

No. Sliding and refilling belong to taking a guest, so if you take none, nothing moves and nothing is discarded. When you do take a guest the row is refilled immediately, so with an effect that lets you take two guests the second comes from the refilled row. A publisher stated that with no guest taken there is nowhere to slide.
