Do I have to take a guest's reward, or can I take only part of it?
The designer confirmed this in several threads; the rulebook wording alone reads as mandatory.

Rewards are optional. The designer said you may decline a reward or take only some of it (for example just the money, skipping a free guest), even though the rulebook says you "receive" it. Rewards must be used at the moment the guest enters the room; they cannot be saved for later.
