Does consuming ice during an attack stop Crackling Air's +2 bonus?

Yes, if you consume the element as part of that attack it no longer counts for the bonus, unless another instance of ice is still available. Consuming it after the attack is fine. A player claim that the bonus does not consume ice conflicts with the designer's answer.
