How is combat damage assigned among my units?

You choose one unrouted unit at a time. Damage equal to or above its health destroys it and the rest moves on; less than its health routes it and the damage is ignored. Routed units take damage only when all your units are routed. Four damage on two 3-health units goes 3 then 1.
