Who fights whom when three or more players have ships in one hex?
Official answers from the publisher or designer address this directly, and it fits the rulebook.
Players fight two at a time, starting with the two who entered last. The survivor then fights the player who entered before them, and so on; the Ancients or GCDS are fought last. A player holding an Influence Disc there is always the defender and fights last, whenever their ships arrived. Combat between ships is mandatory until one side is destroyed or has retreated.
