Can Rangers join or leave a campaign in progress?
The designer confirmed this several times and the rulebook says the same.

Yes. The game scales to whoever plays each day, so Rangers can drop in, miss a day or leave. A new Ranger builds a deck from the starting cards, and the group's unlocked rewards are shared, so the newcomer can swap some in as if the group had just camped. You can bring the same group or different players each session.
