What does my Ranger token do?
The designer ruled that the token does not block other actions, and the rulebook describes the token.

Move it to a card to show it needs your attention. Each other Ranger's token on a card adds one effort to your tests that interact with it, cumulatively. Cards marked with the Ranger symbol clear when every Ranger's token is on them. Having your token on a card does not stop you from interacting with other cards or from traveling unless the card says so; if your token would be discarded, it returns to your role card.
