Do manifestations always need a conduit token?
The designer confirmed the cost applies from the discard and the rulebook defines Conduit and Manifestation.

Yes. Playing a manifestation always costs one token (charge) from an equipped conduit, in addition to its energy cost, wherever it is played from, including from the discard pile with Perfect Recall. The designer said the rulebook omits this for the recall case and the online reference would be fixed. Committing a manifestation for its icons costs no token.
