Does the campaign end on day 30, and can I lose?

There is no loss state, and the campaign does not stop after day 30. The tracker's 30 days only list recommended weather; you can keep playing, using the weather options for later days. Story missions run on timers you record, and you can postpone or ignore the main story and keep exploring.
