The Slot left of an arrow is a cost: a Treasure token or Orb must be there to use the action. An Orb counts as zero, so the action costs nothing. Anything left of an arrow is a cost paid to the supply for what is on the right. A card with an undefined input (like Brazier of Visions) cannot be used until a token is slotted.
