How do I tell Mountain, Plateau, Minor Erg and Desert areas apart on the board?
Drawn from player descriptions of the map; the rulebook only names the four terrain types.

By colour. The darkest brown areas are Mountain, the lighter brown areas are Plateau (Harkonnen settlements sit in Plateau), the pale golden-yellow sand areas inside the plateaus are Minor Ergs, and everything else is Desert. Pasty Mesa, False Wall West and False Wall South are Plateau, not Mountain. Rock-formation areas on the map are Plateaus, so no Wormsign can go there and Sandworms cannot move across them (they can attack into them from an adjacent Desert).
