How many Smuggler Ornithopters do the Atreides get when the Smugglers ally, and are they ever destroyed?
Several players agree across threads, including a rules answerer, and a later FAQ is cited for the Drone Ornithopters point.
Only the Ornithopters already added to the Smugglers board by Drone Ornithopters cards before the alliance, which may be zero; none can be added after. They become the Atreides stock, available every round like Harkonnen Ornithopters, and a removed one is available again; they are never destroyed. The top part of Drone Ornithopters works only while the Smugglers are neutral. Like other Ornithopters, one can move or attack a Legion with an action, not both.
