It is no longer an Ornithopter or a Vehicle but acts as a Generic Leader that Troop-transport can carry and that can take two hits, so vehicle-targeting effects cannot hit it. While still sitting in an Air Zone it counts as a standard Ornithopter, for example for the Captured Ornithopter event. A Legion with no Leader cannot be the target of a Leadership action on the strength of an Escort that would join it afterwards. The Harkonnen can place only one Escort per placement event, though two can be on the board at once.
