Can more than one ability trigger in an encounter, for example with Magistra copying Inventor?

Only one card per encounter triggers its ability, apart from copy/activate effects such as Magistra or Illusionist. Changing influence does not trigger other abilities, so the player who sets up the Magistra and Inventor line wins.
