In team play, what if my Diplomat copies a Proconsul or a Legatus?

Copying a Proconsul works as a Proconsul: you buy a card, your partner plays a card of their own for themselves, and the team's turn then ends with no extra turn. Copying a Legatus works as a Legatus: you look at your partner's hand and suggest a card, and the card they play applies to both of you.
