When you take a special card, which claim counts as the last claim you must play from your hand?

The claim just made on the card you took (the last claim). You place one card of that type from your hand in front of you, or if you cannot or do not want to, any two other cards. For example, after a "Toad" claim you play one toad if you hold one, otherwise two cards.
