Can one Expand cross both a river and a loch?
Probably not. Players quote the current English and German rulebooks on the publisher's site as saying river-crossing and loch-crossing shipping are "alternatively" available, so one expansion cannot chain a river and a loch, and the Board Game Arena version plays that way. The rulebook text used here says each loch level is "in addition to river-crossing", and one reader going by their printed copy disagrees, so this is an edition difference with no clear ruling.
