What if the new tile has a lock or extra Boot I can't pay for?
The rulebook spells out rotating the tile and interrupting movement.

Rotate it to an orientation you can enter. The rulebook requires picking a different orientation if you lack Boots or Lockpicks, and you may pause your move to acquire, fight or use a device to get what you need. Any tile can be oriented to let you in, so you cannot skip the move when a legal placement exists.
