Should I use Leaders & Lore in my first game?
The rulebook states this directly.

The rulebook advises against it; learn the base game first. Leaders and Lore give wild, unique powers that are hard to handle when starting out. Experienced players of asymmetric games can include them if everyone knows the rules.
