How do ships and energy activate modules during Return to Station?

Each ship placed on a module activates it. After one ship has activated a module in a row, you can activate other modules in that row with energy. Several ships can activate in the same row without energy, there is no cap on activations, and you choose the order. Damaged modules can't be activated.
