Are the expansions and data packs compatible with the original core set?

Yes — everything works together. Packs designed after the Revised Core were balanced around it, so mixing them with original-core cards can produce odd or overpowered combinations, and in organized play only legal card pools count; for casual play with your own group, use whatever you own.
