How does the Corporation discard down to hand size?

At the beginning of the Discard phase, if HQ is over the maximum hand size (5 by default) the Corp discards one card at a time of its choice until it is within the limit. Discarded cards go to Archives facedown, and discarding is not trashing, so trash-prevention cards can't stop it.
