Which worker do I lose when an adventure says to lose a worker, even if a Guardian is used?
The designer stated where the worker comes from.

From your own player board, not from the worker taking the action; using a Guardian doesn't change that. The rulebook says workers paid as costs can come from the Active or Tired columns but never busy ones.
