Can I redirect unowned unfinished track, and does that make me the owner?
The rulebook states redirection alone is not an extension; a relayed later designer email may allow an exception.

You may redirect the last tile of unowned (or your own) unfinished track, but the rulebook says redirection by itself is not an extension, so it does not claim the track; you must extend it with a new tile. A relayed report of a later designer email says a redirect that ends in a city or meets another unowned section completes the link and does grant ownership, so check with your group. Only the last tile of an incomplete link can be redirected, and a redirect uses one of your tile placements.
