Do I have to outbid my own standing bid when the auction comes back around to me?

No. Your standing high bid stays when the auction returns to you; only bids by other players have to be exceeded. So if someone uses a Turn Order pass right after your high bid, you do not need to raise, and the remaining opponent must bid or drop.
